On this site you will be able to obtain lots of information about the Maine Coon
Cat and the Club.
A number of photos have been included to
let you see the wide variety of colours we have.
Why not join our club? You don't have to own a Maine Coon to join. Many of our members do not
breed or show, but just enjoy living with a Maine Coon and the club
caters for everyone, even those who don't own a Maine Coon but just
like the breed.
The club holds several events each year.
We publish three newsletters, as well as holding the club show, and
social events. We produce a Maine Coon Calendar each year. Yes, the
club even publishes its own calendar, with photos of members’ cats
on each page!
Please feel free to contact a member of the
committee if you need help or advice.

Cisco - UK,OG,IGrPr Kassaro Ciscokid
I
t is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of Cisco, aged 15 years. He was a legend in his lifetime, one of the most successful cats ever shown in GCCF with a show career that spanned almost fifteen years. You can read more about Cisco on our history page.A wonderful ambassador for the breed, he loved attention and through him, many people became fans of the Maine Coon. He will be much missed by so many people but especially his devoted owners Ray and Sandra Burgess. Our hearts go out to them at this very sad time.

GCCF Maine Coon Breeding & Registration Policies - Latest Information & FAQ - Updated September 2024
The updated registration policy is now in operation.
The breeding policy has also been updated. It is strongly advised that all breeders read the updated breeding policy. Find the new breeding policy here
July 2024 - swabs for DNA testing can now be carried out by either a vet or RVN registered vet nurse. See registration policy for more details.
Please read the registration policy (click here to view) to see the latest requirements before you apply to GCCF for cat or kitten registrations/transfers to the active register including importation of cats from other cat registering bodies or if you currently have cats registered on the GCCF Active Register. There is now a list of DNA tests which must be completed for any applications to have cats or kittens placed on on the GCCF active breeding register from 1st January 2024. We strongly advise reading the new registration policy and contacting GCCF for the required tesing and a list of organisations which are approved to conduct these tests before you arrange testing to take place.
New! The Maine Coon – GCCF Standard – Identifying Correct Type and Breed Faults
A new document has been produced to help breeders, owners and judges when either evaluating their own cats, buying new cats or judging at shows. It explains why the Maine Coon looks the way it does, shows examples of correct and incorrect features and is a great help to anyone interested in learning more about the breed.
