Thank
you for visiting our site. We hope that you will find it both enjoyable and
useful. Here
you will be able to obtain lots of information about the Maine Coon Cat and the
Club. A
number of photos have been included to let you see the wide variety of colours
we have. If
you are considering a purchasing a Maine Coon Kitten, then there is information
on how to go about this in our “Guide to buying a kitten” page. For a list
of breeders in your area, visit our “Kittens Currently Available
Countrywide" and "Club Maine Coon Breeders” page. The
club currently has about 500 members, both in Britain and abroad, including
several Maine Coon breeders and judges in America. Membership is open to anyone,
you do not have to own a Maine Coon to join. Many of our members do not breed or
show, but just enjoy living with a Maine Coon and the club caters for everyone. The
club holds several events each year. We publish three newsletters, as well as
holding the club show, and social events. We produce a Maine Coon Calendar each year.
Yes, the club even publishes its own calendar, with photos of members’ cats on
each page! Please
feel free to contact a member of the committee if you need help or advice.
We now have our 2013 calendars on sale. 13 photos of beautiful Maine Coons, one page per month. Professionally produced on high quality glossy paper. 2013 GCCF Show dates included (June - December are subject to GCCF Approval)
Prices: The Calendar will cost £4.00 (including envelope), from the club table at shows.
What a brilliant day! Great entry, lots of wonderful class cats competing for awards. Well done to everyone. Best in Show - what a great line up and congratulations to them all! Special congratulations to our Overall Best in Show Winner - GOLD OLYMPIAN, UK & IMPERIAL GRAND PREMIER COONTASTIC NIJINSKY- having become the first Gold Olympian just two weeks earlier (see below), he then went a step further at the Maine Coon Cat Club Show because he became Overall Best in Show. Congratulations to his owners, Stephen & Jil Bunce and his breeders Mr & Mrs Barletta.
And congratulations to our beautiful Best Opposite Sex - Mr & Mrs Whitmarsh's Imperial Grand Champion Mabalakat Helpme Rhondda, a beautiful Classic Brown Tabby & White Female Adult, bred by Mrs L Cannell
Click here for more Show Photos The very handsome Jinx has continued his amazing show winning career. Not only did he jointly become the first Bronze Olympian in September 2011, in February 2012, became the first cat to gain the title of Silver Olympian and to round things off, on 16th June 2012, at The Lakeland Cat Club Show, he became the first Gold Olympian titled cat. A very fitting title, since this is the year that the Olympics take place in the UK. Huge congratulations to Stephen & Jill Bunce and their beautiful brown tabby & white boy, Jinx on becoming GOLD OLYMPIAN, UK & IMPERIAL GRAND PREMIER COONTASTIC NIJINSKY
